    Josh,

I am particularly grateful for this post today.
In an effort to better understand your choice for the tag “allegory” or “feelings” I have tried to apply this to my own life.

The monkeys, in my life, allegorically signify children.
In “post-modernity” there is a tension between “feelings” and “reality (it is what it is),” which is best exemplified in the defiance of the monkey in this photo. The monkey representing the feelings of man are fighting against the man inspecting reality. The monkeys distract the man, thus taking over his life, leaving him incapable of confronting and having a radical encounter with reality.

The old nursery rhyme “No more monkeys jumping on the bed,” invites to the forum Freudian interpretations of dreams, which I am unqualified to speak about.

All in all, this Photo, Post-Title, and tag has brought much “pedantriactivity” to my life, and I thank you, sir.
