Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) Announces the closing of St. Gregory’s Academy

As you may have heard, the Fraternity has decided to close down St. Gregory’s Academy.  The Fraternity has not made it clear in their statement their purpose for doing this.  This blog post contains the statement made by Fr. Eric Flood concerning the closing of the academy.  This blog post also claims to have inside information as to the true reason for closing the school.  I urge you to read this blog post cautiously, as it tends to shed some light, but a great deal of heat as well.

  1. It’s a real shame that the author of that article seems to be a spiritual bigot and a heretic of the “I’m too traditional for this century” color.

And apparently a coward unwilling to meet opponents in the field of a comments section battle.

Having read the founding document of the school itself, if the FSSP founded SGA with the idea that it was supposed to be a “traditional Catholic” education they’re fools, simply and wholly.

  2. Peter Louis Kane says:

I suspect I know who sgaalum is now, John. Nicely done. Do you think looking at the post and comments that the author at least represented (albeit perhaps bluntly) FSSP’s stance in the whole situation?

  3. To be perfectly honest, it was not I. I arrived too late.

The author’s views may be representative of a small faction of the FSSP, but I really have my doubts that it’s representative of any of the FSSP’s leadership. Much more so, you’ll find his attitude in large portions of the laity that surround the FSSP. It’s the saddest thing you’ve ever seen, these people hijacking liturgy to use it as a weapon.
